Sixteen frozen Ten Ten Dim Sum products sold in Ontario have been recalled because they contain milk that is not declared on the label.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued the Class 3 recall on September 4. Distribution is listed as Ontario only.
The recall covers five bun varieties in 520-gram packages — vegetable and pork, B.B.Q. pork, leeks and pork, preserved vegetable and pork, and pork bun — along with eleven dumpling varieties in 800-gram packages.
No illnesses have been reported in connection with the products.
Undeclared milk is a risk to people with a milk allergy or a sensitivity to milk, who may have a reaction if they eat the product. Anyone who does not have a milk allergy or sensitivity is not affected by this recall.
The products are staples in the freezer aisles of Chinese and pan-Asian grocers across the GTA, and the Ontario-only distribution means the entire affected supply is in this province. Consumers who have the products should check the CFIA notice for the full product list and codes before eating or serving them.
A second alert issued the same day covers Cucina d’Oro brand pesto in 212-millilitre jars, recalled over improperly declared cashew. That recall lists distribution in Alberta, Ontario and Quebec.
