TDot News is looking for reporters, columnists and photographers who know Toronto and Ontario well.
What we are looking for
- Original local reporting with named sources — city hall, transit, housing, courts, small business, community councils
- Explanatory pieces that make a policy decision legible to the people it affects
- First-person columns grounded in reporting, not opinion alone
- Newcomer and immigration coverage from writers with direct knowledge of the systems involved
- Photography and short video from across the GTA
We are less interested in rewrites of press releases, unsourced opinion, or stories already well covered elsewhere.
How to pitch
Email [email protected] with “PITCH” in the subject line. Include a two-paragraph summary, who you would speak to, why it matters now, and two examples of your published work. We aim to respond within a week.
Terms
Contributors are credited by name with a byline and author page. Rates are agreed before commissioning. Contributors retain the right to be identified as the author and must disclose any conflict of interest before we commission the piece.
