TDot News publishes journalism that readers in Toronto and Ontario can rely on. These are the standards we hold ourselves to.
Accuracy
We verify before we publish. Claims of fact are sourced to named people, documents, or organisations wherever possible. Where we rely on a single anonymous source, we say so and explain why anonymity was granted. We do not publish rumour, and we do not repeat unverified claims from social media without independent confirmation.
Independence
Our newsroom makes its own editorial decisions. Advertisers, sponsors and commercial partners have no say in what we cover or how we cover it. Sponsored or partner content is clearly labelled and is visually distinct from editorial reporting.
Conflicts of interest
Contributors disclose any financial, political, professional or personal interest that a reasonable reader might consider relevant to a story. Where a conflict cannot be managed, the contributor does not take the assignment.
Fairness and right of reply
Anyone facing significant criticism or allegation in our reporting is given a genuine opportunity to respond before publication. If they decline or do not reply, we say so.
Sources and attribution
We credit other outlets by name and link to their original reporting when we build on it. We do not reproduce another publication’s work at length or present it as our own.
Use of AI
We may use AI tools for research support, transcription, data processing and copy editing. Every published story is written, checked and approved by a human editor who is accountable for its accuracy. We do not publish AI-generated text as original reporting.
Corrections
We correct errors promptly and transparently. See our Corrections Policy for how to report one and what we do about it.

If you believe we have fallen short of these standards, write to [email protected] with the story headline, the date, and the specific issue. We aim to acknowledge complaints within two business days.
