Toronto police have released images of a woman wanted after two dogs allegedly escaped an off-leash enclosure in a Yorkville-area park and attacked a woman and her leashed dog. The victim’s dog was left with life-threatening injuries.

Police say the attack happened on Thursday, September 10 near Avenue Road and Roxborough Street. According to 53 Division, the suspect had two dogs in an enclosed off-leash area of a nearby park when the animals got out, charged a woman walking her leashed dog, and attacked both.
The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Her dog’s injuries were life-threatening.
Investigators have identified the person they are looking for. Tanychia Black, 40, of Toronto is wanted for criminal negligence causing bodily harm, two counts of failing to prevent a dog from biting or attacking under the Dog Owners’ Liability Act, and two counts of a dog biting a person or domestic animal under the same act. None of the allegations has been proven in court.
She is described as roughly 5’10” with a heavy build, last seen wearing a navy-blue hair bonnet, a mustard-coloured hoodie, light-coloured pants and dark shoes with white soles. The dogs are described as possibly dark grey or grey, one with a white chest, both a large breed of pit bull or bull terrier.
