Peel Regional Police have released images of a man they say stabbed a driver during an attempted carjacking in Brampton on Sunday night, then kicked in the front door of a nearby house demanding car keys and tried to take two more vehicles.
The force says he should be considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, do not approach him — call 9-1-1.
The first attempt happened at about 10 p.m. on Sunday, 6 September, near Clockwork Drive and Creditview Road. Investigators from the Central Robbery Bureau say the man tried to take a vehicle with the owner sitting in it, stabbed the driver, and ran. The driver was taken to a trauma centre and treated for injuries police describe as not life-threatening.
He then went to a house nearby, kicked in the front door and demanded vehicle keys, police say. He did not get them, and left. He tried two more vehicles in the same area, again without success. Nobody was hurt in those three attempts.
Police describe the man as South Asian, 25 to 30 years old, of slim build, with a possible tattoo on his neck. They say he was wearing a grey sweater, light-coloured pants, black Crocs, a blue and white Toronto Blue Jays cap and a black messenger bag over his shoulder.
