Toronto police have charged a second man with first-degree murder in the 2022 killing of Ding Ping Wang, shot in a plaza parking lot in Scarborough, and with an attempted murder in the same lot four months later.
Officers were called to the Midland Avenue and Passmore Avenue area on Saturday, November 12, 2022 for an unknown-trouble call. Police allege a man was sitting in a vehicle in a plaza parking lot when an unknown suspect approached and shot him. He was pronounced dead at the scene and later identified as Ding Ping Wang, 31, of Toronto.
On March 10, 2023, police allege, a 40-year-old man was inside a vehicle in the same plaza parking lot when a suspect approached and fired several shots. That victim escaped, drove away and survived with serious injuries.
Toronto police announced the arrest of Justin Longshaw, 39, of Toronto for first-degree murder on August 24 this year. Now, the Homicide and Missing Persons Unit says a second man was arrested on Thursday, September 10 in connection with both the murder and the attempted murder. Christopher Atkins-Price, 30, of Toronto is charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder.
