Two people riding a motorcycle were killed in a collision in Welland on Saturday morning, and Niagara Regional Police are asking anyone with dash-camera or surveillance video from the area to come forward.
Officers from 3 District were called to Ontario Road near Hobson Avenue at about 8:20 a.m. on Saturday, September 12. Police say a black Yamaha motorcycle carrying two people collided into the side of a black Honda Civic sedan.
One male occupant of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts, the release says. A female occupant was taken by Niagara Emergency Medical Services to an out-of-region hospital, where she later died of her injuries. The driver of the sedan was not injured.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit has taken carriage of the investigation. Neither of the people who died has been named, and police have released no ages. No charges have been announced and the release makes no finding about how the crash happened.
Police are asking members of the public to review dash-camera and video surveillance footage from the time of the incident and to contact investigators if either vehicle appears in it.
